Mold-Masters announced its new Dexa side gate solution received the inaugural Fakuma Innovation Award 2026 in the injection moulding category. Designed to overcome the challenges associated with high-cavity side gating, Dexa’s advanced solution optimizes part quality through precision process control.

“Understanding application-specific limitations is key to innovation, and we are honored to receive the Fakuma Innovation Award for our Dexa side gate nozzle,” says Thomas Bechtel, Sr. Director, Global R&D. “By developing solutions that improve moulding performance and reduce risk, we help customers achieve better outcomes and create greater value.”

Dexa features individual precision tip heat control which enables cavity-specific process optimization and balance adjustments to improve part quality without affecting neighboring cavities. By comparison, conventional side gate systems use group temperature control methods, meaning there is only one temperature zone for a group of parts (up to 8). Therefore, adjusting processing temperatures to improve the quality of a single part affects multiple parts.
