Okuma launches powerful machine control at EMO 2023

A new CNC system, the OSP-P500, will be launched by Japanese machine tool builder Okuma on stand B36 in hall 15 at the EMO 2023 trade fair in Hannover, to be held from 18th to 23rd September. The smart machine control, which is manufactured in-house, combines highly productive and precise machining with ease of use, energy efficiency and safety features to protect against cyber attacks.

Revolutionising surface quality: Kern Micro HD enables high-precision mould inserts at Vema

At Vema, the production of high-precision mould inserts with polished surfaces forms the key foundation for the success of the downstream plastic injection moulding shop. What in 2021 still required several process steps and final manual work, has since 2022 been possible in a single clamping operation without manual rework thanks to the Kern Micro HD high-end machining centre, equipped with an MHT medium distributor.

New grooving and cut-off milling system

A new generation of tools for grooving and cut-off milling has been introduced by German tooling manufacturer Horn. The cutter bodies are supplied from stock as side, shell and screw-in milling cutters, the two latter variants being equipped for internal coolant supply. Special surface treatment offers protection against abrasion from chips.
