Metalworking Trade Fair Metav shows how energy-efficient metalworking is done

The international trade fair for the metalworking industry, Metav 2022 will take place from 21 to 24 June in Düsseldorf, Germany. It will showcase the entire spectrum of production technology. One of the main topics at the stands will be energy-efficient metalworking.

After having been postponed due to the Coronavirus pandemic, Metav will once again welcome exhibitors and trade fair visitors to halls 16 and 17 on the Düsseldorf trade fair grounds. Boasting 562 exhibitors from 23 countries on about 43,000 square metres of exhibition area, Metav has become a strong anchor in metalworking exhibition activities. The main focus is on machine tools, tools, accessories, measuring technology, surface and computer technology for metalworking, software, machines and systems for additive manufacturing, production systems and components for medical technology. In addition, Metav 2022 will highlight specific solutions in four theme areas: Additive Manufacturing, Medical, Moulding and Quality.

The Moulding Area provides a comprehensive overview of the current status and process chains in this area of metalworking. The unique selling point is the combination of CAx technology, quality assurance and current manufacturing processes. The developments and technologies presented provide ideas for the mould making of the future.

Energy efficiency in the limelight

The manufacturing sector needs to play its part if Europe is to achieve its climate protection targets. That is why Metav 2022 wants to provide insights into innovative manufacturing technologies that help achieve these goals. The exhibition gives an overview of the technology for climate-friendly production and latest news from academia. Those looking to invest in climate-neutral manufacturing can benefit from the advantages of new machine concepts — but they can also minimise the payback time on investments in new machinery and equipment in the form of immediate energy savings and with the help of subsidies.

Parallel event with Wire and Tube

Since the trade fairs Wire and Tube have also been postponed to 20 to 24 June, they will be held concurrently with Metav 2022. Technologies for metalworking will hence be shown even more comprehensively than before. Tube presents machines, tools, materials and accessories for tube manufacturing, while Wire focuses on machines, tools and materials for wire manufacturing and processing.

Dr. Wilfried Schäfer, Executive Director of Metav organiser VDW (German Machine Tool Builders' Association), says: “Metav, Wire and Tube target related industries. Together, they create added value and synergy effects. For example, a tube manufacturer looking for the latest solutions at Tube will also be using lathes, milling and drilling machines as well as CAD technology that can be found at Metav. We see this kind of overlap in the visitor groups of all the trade fairs involved. In view of the great need for investment in production technology, we are pleased to be able to offer visitors this attractive overall package.”

Whether managing directors, team leaders or skilled workers — experts from all areas of production appreciate the Metav for its complete market overview, the wide range of innovative solutions, the short distances and the opportunity for intensive dialogue. 93 percent of visitors leave the fair satisfied, 64 percent are involved in procurement processes. After the long hiatus both visitors and exhibitors will surely give this year’s edition similarly good grades.
