At K 2025, Lehvoss is highlighting its expertise in Smart Resourcing — an approach built on collaborative success, driven by close engagement with customers and across other Lehvoss specialist divisions, including Compounds, Magnesium Compounds, Composites, Rubber and Coating Solutions. This strategy is designed to enable the optimal balance of performance, cost efficiency, and sustainability.

“Thinking around corners. Thinking outside the box. That’s crucial. In times of scarcity and disrupted supply chains, our strong connections and creative sourcing concepts are worth their weight in gold — even for hard-to-source substances like antimony trioxide,” explains Nadia Kursawe, Global Business Team Manager, Business Unit Masterbatches & Plastic Additives.

The example of antimony illustrates the urgency of the challenge: China controls around 50 percent of global antimony mining and 80 percent of its processing — and has imposed export restrictions. At the same time, free ATO powder poses a cancer risk if inhaled. Lehvoss addresses this dual challenge with innovative HFFR (Halogen-Free Flame Retardant) solutions.

Under the Luvobatch-FR brand, Lehvoss continues to expand its portfolio of halogen-free masterbatches. These multi-component systems are based on nitrogen- and phosphorus-based, as well as intumescent, technologies — without compromising either the material’s inherent properties or its processability.

In addition, the Luvogard range from the Luvatol division offers effective flame-retardant solutions for thermosetting resins, PVC plastisols, and textile coatings.

Visitors to the Lehvoss stand will be able to explore:

  • Lean Multi-Talents — Latest studies on ultra-efficient blowing agent additives for automotive applications, helping to save weight, material, transport costs, and energy.
  • All Foam. No Flame — Lightweight crosslinked foams with flame-retardant properties at low density.
  • MLTACK — A sustainable hotmelt adhesive solution for reclosable packaging — developed in a collaboration between Mitsui, MAIC, and Lehvoss.
