Rambaudi rejuvinated, Sigma to unveil new models

The Rambaudi brand is expected offer machines for milling moulds and general engineering. For this reason, the renovated high speed milling centre RC270 will be at EMO. The configuration of the RC270 on dispaly will include an X longitudinal axis of 6,000 mm, a Y transversal axis of 2,700 mm, a Z vertical axis of 1,250 mm and a Glob 89G head, said to suit high-speed semi-finishing and finishing of moulds for both plastic and metal sheet parts.

As an alternative, the machine can be equipped with a Glob 123G head with a spindle taper HSK-A-100 and a rotation speed up to 15,000 rpm for machining operations using large tools.

A brand novelty for European market will be Rambaudi 3225 machine, the new “global” product, which will complete the Rambaudi production range and is aimed at world market of general engineering field. It has a bridge-type configuration with mobile table, manufactured entirely in cast iron, with a 3,200 mm X axis, a 2,400 mm Y axis , a 1,200 mm Z axis and a mobile table measurign 3,000 by 2,000 mm. The spindle with 6,000 rpm, 18,5 kW, and ISO50 is the key element. The machine is also equipped with a 90-degree angular head, a 45-degree adjustable, tool magazine and full enclosure. This product is aimed at the subcontracting market for the machining of mechanical structures and moulds.

Sigma to unveil additional models

Together with the palletized simultaneous 5-axis vertical machining centre Tandem, Sigma will show two new Compact models from a new range of 3-axis and 5-axis compact machines. Compact range of machining centres is characterized by a unique concept: the movable table along X-axis, incorporating a number of design features that ensure typical benefits of superior machines. These machines are particularly targeted at the German market, where Sigma customers have in the past chosen the company's Zenit and Mission machines.

At EMO 2013, Compact 3A model will be shown as a 3-axis production unit inside a milling flexible cell including a Fanuc robot. This system is Sigma's answer for subcontractors’ needs for low cost production of complex and precise workpieces in small to medium batches, without direct intervention of the operator for change operations such as “Auto Change Over”.

The simultaneous 5-axis model Compact 5A has a rotary table configuration (B-axis) integrated in the movable table and a tilting milling head (C-axis) equipped with a motorspindle. In both the 3- and 5-axis models, the tool magazine is structurally disconnected from the movements of machine axes, thus allowing to load, to unload and to manage tools without stopping the machining cycle.

Tool magazine capacity is amplified by the functions of Sigma Tool Check, a Sigma-patented electronic device to manage tool magazine.

Sigma will also show two “global” machining centres, Alliance and Typhoon for 3-axis and simultaneous 5-axis version. The machines till be produced as part of the joint venture Sigma-Feeler in the new Feeler plant in Taichung, Taiwan. Alliance and Typhoon are the first common industrial project of Sigma and Feeler, which aim to produce a so-called “global” range of products, mixing the know-how of Sigma in the field of high-performance vertical machining centres with the experience of large series production of Feeler brand.
