Toolcraft was originally founded as a machining service provider, but since then has constantly expanded its range of services. The medium-sized family business has, for example, been operating its own mould-making system for almost 20 years. Continuous investment in state-of-the-art machinery is a matter of course at Toolcraft across all technologies. The latest acquisition of a high-precision Kern Micro HD milling machine is now setting new standards for mould making.

As a technology all-rounder, Toolcraft is an additive and subtractive manufacturer, and also implements custom automation solutions. The medium-sized company has also been successfully working in injection moulding and mould making for many years. Keeping the machine park up to date is a high priority at the medium-sized company. The latest investment in mould making — a Kern Micro HD machine with automation from Erowa — is a milestone for mould making at the Spalt site in Bavaria. The micro-gap hydrostatics in the axes enable high-precision component manufacturing and the finest surface finishes up to a high gloss. Toolcraft expects great progress in accuracy and throughput rates, thanks to integrated coordinate grinding directly on the system. “This machine is setting completely new standards for us and means we can implement innovative technologies”, says Christoph Wechsler, Head of Mould Making at Toolcraft. The next investment in machinery is already planned for the end of the year in the mould making division.
