After five years of intensive research and development, Simtek Präzisionswerkzeuge now offers high-precision turning tools with 3D laser-cut chip forming geometries in its standard range. While these tools were previously only available on individual customer request, they are now also available as standard tools in the new main catalogue.

In addition to the 11,000 standard tools listed in in its new catalogue, Simtek develops several thousand individual tool concepts every year. The vertical integration achieved over decades covers the entire value creation process from the blank to the coating on the company's own systems. Simtek's innovative strength is most recently reflected in the new 3D laser-cut chip shape geometries offered for tools in the simturn product family. These have proven themselves in numerous customised projects and, according to the manufacturer, offer the most effective and economical solution for optimum chip control under difficult conditions or special challenges.

Norbert Seifermann, CEO of Simtek, emphasises: “With our new 3D laser technology, we guarantee optimum chip control and support the mechanical engineering, automotive, aerospace and medical technology industries wherever process reliability and long tool life are of the utmost importance. By AMB, we will have added around 180 variants of these tools for different applications and materials to our standard range. This means that customers will be able to order them quickly and easily via the new Simtek main catalogue, which will be published at the same time as the trade fair.”

On 770 pages, the main catalogue presents over 11,000 Simtek standard tools for the highest requirements, which can also serve as the basis for customised tool solutions. 57 newly added laser-cut tool geometries for bore machining, groove production and longitudinal and profile turning are included. In future, the standard range will be continuously expanded to include further tools with 3D lasered chip form geometries.

More news in the main catalogue

In addition to the wide range of standard tools with 3D laser-cut chip form geometries, the new Simtek main catalogue also contains numerous other innovations. Simtek is expanding its Simmill 9W tool system with a new size that can work from a diameter of 28.0 mm as standard. The Simmill 9W tool range combines the advantages of modular tools with benefits that were previously reserved for Monoblock tools. Simtek is also presenting a system for axial grooving with high grooving depths in relatively small diameters. Simtek CEO Norbert Seifermann concludes: “We will be at AMB in Stuttgart from 10 to 14 September and are looking forward to showing trade visitors our entire range in person at our stand C36 in hall 3.”
