The cutting tool manufacturer Seco Tools has expanded its milling portfolio with the 335.18 disc milling cutter. The new system is designed as a robust and highly configurable solution for slotting operations in industrial production. With more than 70 standard variants and additional customization options via the MyDesign service, the 335.18 targets manufacturers seeking stable performance and cost efficiency across a wide range of applications.

According to Seco, the 335.18 disc milling cutter is engineered to handle demanding slotting tasks in sectors such as automotive, aerospace and general engineering. A smooth-cutting tool design is intended to reduce vibration, improve process stability and extend tool life. This makes the cutter suitable not only for conventional machining centres, but also for challenging conditions such as long overhangs or less rigid setups, including robotic machining.

The system is supported by one of the broadest product ranges in its class. It offers multiple LNKT insert options, different corner radii, integrated wiper flats for improved surface finish, and a comprehensive selection of grades and geometries. When standard configurations do not meet specific requirements, the MyDesign platform enables users to configure and quote a customised cutter body within a short time.

Cost efficiency is a central aspect of the 335.18 concept. Double-sided inserts with four usable cutting edges, combined with high-performance insert grades and a durable cutter body made from Swedish steel, are designed to increase tool life and reduce insert consumption. Seco positions the new disc milling cutter as a solution that supports both sustainable manufacturing strategies and long-term productivity in slotting operations.
