Machine tool provider NCMT is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. In 1964, it was one of the first companies to sell CNC machine tools into the UK and Irish markets when it won the sole agency to sell and service Japanese-built Makino machining centres. Twelve years later, a second agency agreement was reached with Okuma, another Japanese machine tool manufacturer, to sell its machining centres, lathes and grinders into the same markets.

In 2005, Makino-NCMT Grinding Division was established to develop and sell throughout Europe Makino machining platforms for creep-feed Viper grinding of nickel alloys. Since 2015, NCMT has also been the Europe-wide agent for photo-activated adhesive workholding systems manufactured by Blue Photon in the US.

Most recently, at the beginning of 2024 NCMT signed an exclusive distribution agreement in the UK and Ireland with Tritone Technologies, a global leader in additive manufacturing (AM) technology specialising in metal and ceramic applications. Typical AM components will be available to demonstrate the technology and there will be representation from the Israeli manufacturer on the company’s stand at Mach (Hall 19, stand 130).

NCMT's portfolio includes advanced machine tools like the Okuma Genos M560-V-e vertical machining centre, known for its thermal stability and high performance, equipped with robotic loading for enhanced productivity. The Genos range also features a small 5-axis machining centre and a high-specification lathe, emphasizing precision, user-friendly operation, and efficiency. Additionally, NCMT's offering includes the Okuma MULTUS U3000 multi-tasking lathe for versatile turning and milling, and the OSP-P500 CNC system for precision and energy efficiency. The Makino N2-5XA provides ultra-fast, compact 5-axis machining, ideal for complex components. The Makino DA300 is highlighted for its automation capabilities for extended lights-out operation.

NCMT also showcases advanced EDM solutions from Makino, including the world's fastest wire EDM machine, the U6 Heat Extreme, and the high-performance EDAF3 die-sinking machine, offering precision and ease of use. Additionally, the Blue Photon photo-activated adhesive system is presented for its innovative workholding capabilities, demonstrating NCMT's commitment to providing cutting-edge technology solutions to the manufacturing industry.
