After a four-year hiatus, EMO Hannover returned for a six-day event that featured some 1,850 exhibitors and attracted some 92,000 trade visitors. The event focused on automation, digitalisation and sustainable production solutions. According to a visitor survey, the majority of attendees were particularly interested in learning about innovations and trends, as well as finding solutions to specific challenges. Exhibitors also noted the effectiveness of the event as a platform for customer engagement and for showcasing new technologies.

The show also highlighted the growing role of collaborative robots, or cobots, in manufacturing. These cobots are designed to work alongside humans and do not require specialised programming skills to operate. The event provided insight into the growing role of digital controls, data exchange based on standards such as OPC UA, and other factors critical to process monitoring and quality management.

The event drew attention to the issue of sustainability in manufacturing, with 68 percent of visitors citing it as a high priority. Various aspects such as product carbon footprint and energy efficient design were covered, demonstrating the industry's evolving focus on reducing its carbon footprint.

The show reported that more than half of the attendees were visiting EMO Hannover for the first time, in line with exhibitors' objectives to attract new business. Nearly 60 percent of attendees held executive or top management positions, and around half came with concrete investment plans, demonstrating the show's importance to decision-makers in various industries.

EMO Commissioner General Welcker commented that the event served to confirm EMO Hannover's status as the world's leading manufacturing technology exhibition. The next EMO Hannover is scheduled for 22-27 September 2025.
