Productive Machines has launched its flagship technology as a fully automated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) solution. This innovative offering, Sense NC Finesse, stands out as the first of its kind to automate the optimisation of milling operations comprehensively.

Productive Machines, a provider of autonomous machine tool optimisation technology, has made its core technology available as a fully automated Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) offering. The company’s Sense NC Finesse software is the world's first to provide automated optimisation of all milling operations, enabling manufacturers to set up and run production on any machine tool, eliminating chatter vibrations at every cutter location along the toolpath.

The software uses an Artificial Intelligence (AI) model to optimise machine processes and is already in use at more than ten major manufacturers, including Renault and Masa Aerospace. By making it available as an automated SaaS product, Productive Machines aims to help many more manufacturers worldwide eliminate trial and error iterations on machine tools, reduce waste and deliver better products faster.

According to the company, machines configured with Productive Machines' have demonstrated the ability to produce parts in half the original time, significantly improve surface quality and reduce scrap by up to 25 percent. Users have reported significant reductions in tooling costs of up to 20 per cent on optimised machines.

Sense NC Finesse is now available as a software plug-in to manufacturers using Siemens NX CAM software, enabling them to improve the performance of existing machines within their chosen CAM environment. Productive Machines will release a plug-in for Mastercam users this summer and will make the software available to users of other CAM software in the coming months.
