Yamazaki Mazak and its Spanish representative, Intermaher, reported a successful participation at the recent BIEMH trade show in Bilbao, driven by strong levels of enquiries and high visitor turnout.

Mazak and Intermaher showcased five machines, including the European-built CV5-500 5-axis machining center and the QTE-300 turning center, both exhibited with turnkey robot machine tending solutions. Notably, the Integrex i-450H, a larger model from Mazak’s Multi-Tasking range that combines turning and B-axis milling, garnered significant interest from stand visitors.

Another popular machine was the Variaxis i-800 Neo, designed to deliver a 22.7% lower carbon footprint over its operational life compared to its predecessor, demonstrating Mazak’s commitment to environmentally friendly manufacturing. The FSW-460V hybrid machine, which integrates machining with friction stir welding technology and recently won the Grand Prix award at the Mach-Tech show in Hungary, was also a highlight. This machine is particularly suitable for high-volume manufacturing sectors, including electric vehicles, semiconductors, and heat transfer.

During the five-day event, which attracted 38,000 visitors, the Intermaher-Mazak stand experienced exceptionally high traffic, resulting in a substantial volume of machine enquiries for Intermaher.

Alan Mucklow, Managing Director UK, Eire and National Distributors at Yamazaki Mazak, says the Spanish market is very important to the company. “Spain is a key market for Mazak with strong aerospace and automotive sectors.
