The new WFL M20 Millturn is now available for longer shaft parts with the addition of two new centre width variants of 2 m and 3 m. The special features are the high performance of the machine as well as the individual configurability. WFL is targeting customers who are looking for a reliable solution for very demanding parts.

The new WFL M20 machine offers a wide range of applications, suitable for tasks in industries such as aerospace, automotive, engineering and plastics. It features a 25 kW milling spindle with B and Y axes on the upper system, allowing efficient machining of any geometry. Notably, it offers an optional single tool carrier with a B-axis for turning on its lower system, giving the machine two B-axes. This setup allows simultaneous machining on both spindles at any desired angular position, and both B-axes can be tilted during cutting. The machine also supports 5-axis interpolation and has automatic tool change, which can increase productivity.

The machine's lower system, like the upper, can access a central tool magazine and offers various configuration options, including turrets and steady rest slides. The M20 Millturn is compact but robust, designed for precision and performance. Capable of machining workpieces up to 500 mm in diameter, it features a 44 kW main spindle, a ±120° swivel B-axis and a 20,000 rpm milling spindle. The main components are made from nodular cast iron, providing strength and vibration damping for optimum machining.

For tools, customers can choose from magazines with 40 to 160 positions using HSK-63 or PSC63 holders. Tools can weigh up to 10 kg and have specific maximum diameters. Various automation options are available for workpiece loading and unloading, including the Int-Cell, gantry loaders, articulated robots and a unique mobile robot solution offered by WFL.
