At Grinding Hub 2026, Walter Maschinenbau will focus on the future of tool production with automated manufacturing, new laser and measuring technology, and several innovations still under wraps.

Walter Maschinenbau invites trade visitors to the international trade fair Grinding Hub in Stuttgart from 5 to 8 May 2026. The company will be represented at the United Machining Solutions Group’s joint stand in Hall 9, Stand B50, where it will present a number of technological highlights and previously unannounced innovations relating to the future of tool production.

At Grinding Hub, Walter will showcase its comprehensive solution for fully automated tool production (ATP), its new laser machining centre based on the Walter Vision technology as well as the Helicheck Nano measuring system for the precise, complete measurement of the smallest tools from 0.1 mm in diameter. In addition, further machines from the fields of grinding, EDM and measurement will be on display.

Visitors will also be able to get to know the Helitronic Tool Studio software solution, experience the Core Panel as a modern, intuitive machine control system and discover the wide range of customer care services offered by Walter Ewag.

Finals of the “Grinder of the Year” competition

As a technology partner of the main sponsor, United Machining Solutions, Walter is hosting the exciting final of the “Grinder of the Year” competition – an important contribution to promoting young talent in tool grinding technology.

The finalists will go through three practical stations:

  • Programming their tool at the VDW stand using Walter’s Helitronic Tool Studio software.
  • Grinding the programmed tools on the Helitronic Mini Plus at the Walter stand.
  • Quality control on the Helicheck Plus – also directly at Walter.

The finals will take place on 6 and 7 May 2026. The award ceremony is on 7 May at 3.30 pm.

Live grinding with Phil Hollinworth

On 8 May 2026, visitors can look forward to a special highlight: Walter enthusiast and Linkedin influencer Phil Hollinworth will be demonstrating live at Helitronic Mini Plus tools that can be manufactured using modern Walter technology.
