Varioforce is a new lifting accessory for lifting asymmetrical loads: the core of the system developed by Spanset consists of adjustable textile strands for precise alignment of the center of gravity. Without the need for tools and with just a few simple steps, Varioforce can be adjusted to the required length — steplessly and to the centimeter.

To bring an asymmetrical load into balance, it is usually lifted and lowered several times to adjust the length of the lifting accessory. With Varioforce, the adjustment is made directly at the load connection. This simplifies the preparation for the lifting process. “The riggers can find the correct length setting faster than with a lifting chain, where they need to adjust the shortening element,” says Key Account Manager Marc Böhme. The handling of Varioforce is also simplified because it is a lightweight, textile lifting accessory.

When lifting asymmetrical loads, it is often unavoidable that the load comes into contact with the lifting accessory. If the load is painted or powder-coated, lifting accessories can sometimes leave marks, leading to costly rework, especially with new products such as in automotive manufacturing. “In contrast, the textile lifting accessory treats sensitive surfaces gently,” explains Böhme. “For this reason, Varioforce is well received by users for balancing asymmetrical loads.”

The low-stretch Varioforce strands made of high-molecular polyethylene (HMPE) are produced by Spanset in Germany. The slings are equipped and combined with fittings from the ExoSet series according to DIN EN1677 and special steel. The contact surface, radii, and widths of the fittings are specifically designed for the Varioforce slings, ensuring they protect the textile lifting accessory, reduce wear, and increase the service life of this innovative product. Additionally, the unique lifting accessory meets Spanset's factory standards and is tested for up to 20,000 load cycles.

Spanset offers Varioforce in various lengths and sling combinations, with one or two round slings and up to four Varioforce strands for length compensation. The user can individually configure slings and Varioforce strands in the modular system. The load capacity ranges from 1.0 to 4.2 tons for multi-strand slings.
