Amid growing pressure to reduce machining time — particularly in general machinery and automotive component manufacturing — high-performance tools have become essential. In this context, shorter cycle times not only improve output but also contribute to lower energy consumption, supporting environmental and cost-efficiency goals.

The Addmultiturn turning tool series from Tungaloy is designed as a flexible, high-efficiency tool for external turning, facing, profiling and high-feed turning. Featuring double-sided inserts with six cutting edges, the tool system offers extended tool life, fewer insert changes, and improved productivity.

The expanded product line now includes PSC holders in three interface sizes (C4, C5, and C6), with square shank types in 20 mm and 25 mm set to follow later in 2025. This broader compatibility makes the Addmultiturn system accessible to a wider range of machine tools and production environments.

The internal coolant holders feature a multi-point supply system, delivering coolant from seven locations — four from the top and three from the bottom — ensuring direct cooling at the cutting edge during both forward and reverse turning. This design improves chip evacuation, reduces heat generation, and significantly extends insert life.

The high-rigidity clamp structure and optimized coolant paths also support stable machining across multiple directions. In particular, the combination of robust tool design and enhanced cooling performance enables efficient high-feed reverse turning.
