When the finalists and winners of the German Sustainability Award gather in Düsseldorf on 23 November 2023, this prestigious prize will be awarded for the 16th time. The DNP has been awarded annually since 2008 by the German Sustainability Award Foundation and its cooperation partners. These include the German Federal Government, the German Council for Sustainable Development, municipal associations and business organisations.

The German Sustainability Award is an award that focuses entirely on the topic of sustainability. It honours exemplary sustainability achievements in business, local government and research. With five competitions, more than 800 applicants and around 2,000 guests at the closing ceremony, it is the largest award of its kind in Europe.

The 140 jurors of the DNP for Companies used their expertise, judgement and courage to select the companies that they believe are leading the sustainable transformation in their sectors this year. Their decisions recognisably reflect the breadth and depth of the transformation.

Sustainability is one of the Swiss Steel Group's strategic corporate goals and it can count itself among the market leaders that can already successfully supply green steel to its customers.

“We are overwhelmed and honoured to have been chosen as the winner of the German Sustainability Award by the high-calibre jury. This is a lasting testament to our ongoing commitment to decarbonisation and our vision of an environmentally friendly future in the steel industry, which we are sticking to even in challenging times. Above all, it is a recognition of the achievements of our employees, who are all working hard every day in a difficult economic environment to make further progress in decarbonising our industry,” said Frank Koch, CEO of the Swiss Steel Group, spontaneously on the occasion of the announcement of the winners. “For us, sustainability is not only a strategic corporate goal, but also a social responsibility towards future generations,” Frank Koch continued.
