Programming with Hypermill is simple and comfortable, Open Mind Technologies emphasises. Users need only click on the surfaces for processing, the toolpaths are then generated automatically and tested for collisions. Higher process security is therefore also provided, which is particularly important in difficult access areas, such as deep and narrow cavities, for example. The possible applications fields of the new CAM strategy are very diverse. The greatest potential, of course, lies in tool and mould construction, where components with numerous different planes have to be processed. Moreover, turbine blades, impellers and blisks, general fluid flow parts or flanges, for example, can also be milled efficiently. “Tangent plane machining” is part of the Hypermill Maxx Machining performance package, which consists of two mutually independent modules for highly efficient roughing and finishing. The roughing module provides numerous options for high-performance cutting in trochoidal tool movements for 2D, 3D and 5-axis simultaneous processing.
