Under the motto “A driving force in grinding technology”, Saint-Gobain Abrasives will be showcasing its innovative grinding solutions at Grinding Hub 2024. The company will not only provide answers to current challenges but also highlight future trends in the industry for which Saint-Gobain Abrasives already has a solution or is working on one. Topics include progress in electromobility, the increasing importance of medical technology and the growing demand for semiconductors. There will also be exciting insights into the research work being carried out to master these future challenges just as successfully as the current ones. Saint-Gobain Abrasives thus remains a pioneer in abrasive technology.

New high-performance ceramic grain

Norton Razorstar, a high-performance ceramic grain for razor-sharp grinding, is just one of many high-performance product innovations at the Saint-Gobain Abrasives stand. With the innovative ceramic grain developed by Saint-Gobain, Norton Razorstar sets new standards in terms of productivity, speed and service life during the sanding process. Improved sanding performance, longer tool life and cooler sanding ensure unrivalled stock removal, higher workpiece quality, reduced energy consumption, less waste and therefore lower process costs. Norton Razorstar is specifically designed for medium to high-pressure metal cutting and can also be used in demanding robotic and freehand applications. At this year's Grinding Hub, Razorstar will also be on show as part of a robot-controlled machining process for medical implants.

For more performance in tool machining

Increasingly stringent precision requirements and the desire for ever-increasing productivity make flute grinding in particular a complex discipline in tool manufacturing. The most important instrument for the reliable machining of carbide shank tools is high-performance diamond grinding wheels. With the Q-Flute Prime, Norton Winter offers a solution that ensures increased productivity, shorter cycle times and lower grinding costs. This special diamond grinding wheel is characterised by an optimum combination of profile retention and free-grinding behaviour. Q-Flute Prime delivers up to 50 percent higher profile retention than conventional grinding wheels and therefore guarantees a noticeably longer tool life when machining shank tools. In addition to this special grinding disc, Saint-Gobain Abrasives will also be presenting other grinding solutions for tool processing, such as saw sharpening, at Grinding Hub.
