Hybrid machining is setting new standards in grinding technology. At Grinding Hub 2026 in Stuttgart, manufacturers such as Vollmer, Studer and Liebherr will showcase how combining grinding, erosion and laser processes boosts precision, reduces downtime and can deliver productivity gains of up to 70 percent.
Grinding Hub 2026 presents the current state of grinding technology, with a focus among other things on hybrid machining systems and cross-process efficiency improvements. How can demanding individual processes such as grinding or erosion be combined to achieve even greater output and precision? At what point does the use of laser technology make sense? From 05 to 08 May in Stuttgart, the trade fair will highlight how users can achieve higher material removal rates, reduced non-productive times and maximum process stability with state-of-the-art processes. Grinding Hub thus sets a technological benchmark for the networked, resource-efficient and highly precise manufacturing of the next generation.
Greater efficiency through numerous combinations
“Tool manufacturers today are striving for ever more efficient ways to produce their tools, including customer-specific solutions — and to do so in an automated manner,” says Tobias Trautmann, Managing Director of Vollmer Werke Maschinenfabrik in Biberach an der Riß. “We support this goal with various sharpening technologies that not only enable the precise machining of ultra-hard cutting materials, but also optimise manufacturing processes thanks to digital solutions and AI applications.”
