Husky Technologies highlighted its commitment to sustainability and efficiency in manufacturing at Fakuma 2024, unveiling the latest advancements in its Altanium mould controllers. These technologies offer substantial energy savings and productivity gains for injection moulding, the company states.

At the forefront of Husky’s new offerings presented at Fakuma is the updated Altanium mould controller family, now featuring Active Reasoning Technology (ART 2.0). This second-generation control algorithm enhances hot runner temperature management, providing up to 42 percent faster heat-up times while reducing energy consumption by 30 percent compared to traditional control solutions. ART 2.0 improves the efficiency of mould electrification and valve stem control, delivering up to 60 percent greater efficiency overall. This advanced control system enables precise, repeatable temperature and valve gate control, leading to higher mould performance and improved part quality.

Husky also introduced its new Data Wave 2 technology, a single-cable thermocouple system designed to eliminate traditional thermocouple cables between the mold and controller. Ideal for high cavitation and stack tools, this innovation reduces complexity, cuts connection costs by up to 30 percent, and simplifies cable management systems, offering a notable boost in productivity.

The Altanium Servo Control (ASC) provides advanced servo control options, with up to six Mold Servo Axes and two Ultrasync-E axes, complemented by individual servo valve stem control. Husky’s approach includes comprehensive application engineering support to optimise motor and actuator sizing. Each system undergoes factory testing and tuning, and global startup and training support is available for all customers, ensuring seamless integration and performance.
