The new M-950iA/500 serial-link robot from Fanuc brings versatility to heavy lifting tasks. Serial-link means there is no interference of the main J3 arm with the J2 arm due to the absence of a supporting mechanism present in parallel-link robots. The arm of the serial link robot can stand upright above and rotate backwards. The robot provides a much wider range of motion and more versatility in lifting and handling operations. Also, the rotation of 395° on the J3 axis on the M-950iA/500 is impressive, supported by a payload of 500 kg and a reach of 2,830 mm.

Standard IP67 protection rating for the wrist and IP54 for the body make the M‐950iA/500 an ideal choice for harsh operating environments. Severe dust and liquid protection, motor covers, epoxy paint and more options allow a tailor-made, on customer needs, customized equipment of the robot.

This strong robot complements the company’s existing M-1000iA serial-link robot with 1,000 kg payload and 3,253 mm reach, thus providing more choice to production engineers seeking versatility in heavy handling tasks.
