The manufacturer of high-speed precision presses, Bruderer UK, is marking nearly 50 years of exhibiting at Mach by unveiling a UK first. The company, which operates from its competence centre in Telford, will showcase the new BSTA 280-88-B3 machine when the country’s biggest industrial show opens its doors at the NEC in Birmingham in April (20th - 24th).

Equipped with the new BSV 170 servo feeder, the press marks a major technological leap forward with the introduction of the new B3 control system delivering high-end control and precision. Benefits include the ability to adjust shut height at micron increments on the fly, advanced tool and press protection and the opportunity to control up to six axis at once, supporting lamination control with exceptional speed and precision.

“Mach is the highlight of the UK manufacturing calendar and we’ve been showcasing our presses here for nearly fifty years,” explained Adrian Haller, Managing Director of Bruderer UK. “We wanted to celebrate this huge milestone with a real industrial statement, and we believe we will do this when we run a live manufacturing line with the BSTA 280-88-B3 at its heart. This will be the first time this tech has been run in the UK.”

According to Haller, the new BSV 170 servo feeder combines all the strengths of the company’s mechanical feeders with modern servo technology.

“All key parameters — material thickness, pitch control, roll pressure and more — are managed directly through the B3 control, enabling complete process control, exceptionally fast tool changes and adjustments made with little more than a press of a button”, Haller states and adds: “Together, it will ensure every stamped part meets the most demanding accuracy standards set by customers in automotive, aerospace, electronics, medical, renewables and, increasingly defence.”

Bruderer UK is seeing growing demand for smart controls, data integration and flexible automation, driven in part by the skills shortage and the constant need for high-quality output.

The company’s sales experts will be on Stand 6-479 at Mach 2026, taking centre stage in the Metalworking Village organised by the Metal Forming Machinery Makers Association (MMMA).

Full turnkey solutions, from cradle to grave, can also be explored during the show, with examples of how the firm has supported engineering businesses to gain greater efficiencies and introduce new products.

Bruderer UK will also be using Mach 2026 to present a full suite of the latest press tooling and automation technologies, including live multi-slide machines, decoilers and the latest-generation servo feeders, state-of-the-art vision inspection systems and box-changing systems designed to support lights-out production.

There will also be a fully automated line incorporating bending, forming, welding and a tapping process.
