Introduced in Switzerland in 1971, the modular CK tool system from Big Daishowa revolutionised precision machining by integrating highly developed turning tools into simple tool holders. This patented innovation enables manufacturers to always use the latest tools without compromising on quality or increasing production costs. With applications in milling, rough boring and fine boring, the CK system combines precision, flexibility and cost-effectiveness.

“For over 50 years, the modular CK system has offered an economical and reliable solution for machining with almost unlimited combination options,” explains Christian David, Sales Manager at Big Daishowa Germany. “Thanks to backwards compatibility, customers can easily connect older CK adapters to the new generation, making sustainable use of existing investments.”

The modular concept reduces tooling costs by combining components to achieve precise results, rather than using specialised monobloc tools. Micrometer-level repeatability optimises cutting conditions, extends tool life and reduces overall costs. The CK system is compatible with leading machine tool interfaces, including Big-Plus spindles, and supports vibration-damping and digital tool solutions.

Depending on the requirements, the modular tools can be used flexibly on different machines. Changing tools is quick and easy with just a few simple steps: the boring tool can be effortlessly replaced on the machine. This versatility of the CK system enables customised tool assemblies, for example for particularly deep holes. All CK components are immediately available to minimise downtime and increase operational efficiency.
