Mayku, a company specialising in benchtop pressure forming, has launched its updated Multiplier Pressure Former. This machine allows engineers and designers to achieve injection moulding-like precision directly on their workbench. Capable of sub-micron detail, it can produce prototypes and end-use parts in 2 to 30 minute cycles.

The machine's new custom mode allows users to create and save profiles for any compatible thermoformable material. This mode also offers enhanced control over the machine's heat and pressure, ensuring accuracy. An additional feature, the Reducing Plate accessory, simplifies material sourcing and testing by changing the forming area to common formats such as A4 or US Letter. This accessory also extends the material thickness range from 0.1 mm to over 5 mm.

The Mayku Multiplier can be used to achieve consistent parts with qualities such as high chemical resistance and optical clarity, similar to injection moulding. Several companies and design studios have already adopted the Multiplier and it's compatible with a wide range of thermoplastics including PMMA, UHMW and polypropylene.

Used in conjunction with 3D printers or CNC milling machines, the Multiplier improves the production of end-use parts and ensures consistent accuracy. With the Multiplier, engineers can produce complex, production-quality thermoplastic parts faster and more cost-effectively than with traditional outsourcing or other technologies.

The Multiplier will be available from 26 September through Mayku's global partners. Existing users will receive a Multiplier 2.0 firmware update and can reserve the new reducing plate on the Mayku website, with the first batch expected by mid-October.
