Coscom supports C.u.W. Keller with various software solutions to maximise their output in gear production.

More transparency, more productivity, more added value - a consistent virtual machining process solution helps the gear manufacturer C.u.W. Keller GmbH & Co. KG from Troisdorf to utilise its productivity reserves and thus reduce its throughput times by about 25% and to achieve about 20% more value added in its own production.

Precision and cost-effectiveness, both of which are dealt with by C.u.W. Keller GmbH & Co. KG, because the Troisdorf company produces gear wheels and special gearboxes for the highest demands: The products and assemblies of C.u.W. Keller are used in marine engines, in open-pit excavators, in plastics or food processing machinery. C.u.W. Keller GmbH & Co. KG introduces a complete virtual machining software process solution from Coscom in their complete CNC production. With their help, the company makes the entire AV process much more efficient: Acquisition of design data from Inventor CAD, tool management, CAM data management, NC programming, engine room simulation, link to the ERP system – this integrated networking of production shortened set-up times and downtimes drastically and uncovered productivity reserves – for around 20% higher value added in-house, combined with a proven reduction in throughput times of around 25% for better on-time delivery.

20% more value added with integrated process solution

The new DMG 5-axis machining center for universal milling of bevel gear sets in straight, helical and various special gears is used in production at C.u.W. Keller GmbH & Co. KG supplied with NC sets from Coscom Proficam VM. Equally universal in use is the CAM software for all other operations for horizontal turning, vertical turning and 3-axis milling. The CAD / CAM system Proficam VM was successively supplemented with the CAM data management system Factorydirector VM and the tool management Tooldirector VM and released further productivity reserves: C.u.W. Keller was able to increase the value added in its own parts by approximately 20%.

Virtually secure, even with large dimensions

The appropriate dimensions for large-scale machining and equipment must also include the 16 CNC machines and machining centers. With the aid of the machine simulation Profikinematik VM, all machining processes can be virtually checked in the run-up to production and corrected if necessary, including modern technologies such as turning-milling or simultaneous 5-axis machining. C.u.W. Keller thus reduced the error rate in programming by around 10%. Even higher cutting values were achieved. The innovative post-processor technology Coscom Profi NC-Joker significantly accelerated production with its machine change concept, even for large dimensions. Thus, machine-individual, run-time-optimized NC programs increased the product quality, such as e.g. during gear processing.
