D-CAM Wire EDM software reduces programming time
Germany – D-CAM develops software (Dcamcut) specifically for the process of wire EDM.
For more than 20 years, the company has focused exclusively on the development of programming systems for wire EDM. According to the company, it concentrates on a clearly structured system environment that is also highly flexible, with a scope of functionalities covering all levels of modern CAM programming. The software is available as CAD integration or stand-alone system. Fully integrated in the user interface of well-known CAD systems, Dcamcut offers a comprehensive variety of functions for creating wire EDM programs on all 2D and 3D geometries. The stand-alone system features a powerful CAD core, offering all users without a specified CAD system an independent workstation to perform any EDM job. The latest version 8.2 has been available for customers since 2014. The version includes improved roughing functionality, multi-axis technology for Fanuc and Sodick machines, event control for action points for the definition of welding areas within the cutting geometry and feature recognition and performance improvements for multi-axis machining.
