Machine tool manufacturer WFL is leveraging its extensive experience to offer advanced software solutions designed for its Millturn complete machining center. The company’s technology cycles cover a wide range of standard and specialized machining applications, enabling efficient programming directly on the machine control or a PC.

WFL’s technology cycles cater to a variety of machining tasks, including turning, drilling, milling and metal cutting. The cycles simplify programming and streamline the production process. Examples include thread turning, deep hole drilling and face milling. For more specific applications, cycle packages such as Utronix for multi-axis machining and Cranx for crankshaft machining are available.

In gear cutting, WFL offers solutions for both internal and external gears, including the Flanx cycle series, which handles gear hobbing, shaping, and milling. These cycles ensure high precision and efficiency in gear production.

WFL’s Millturn also functions as a 3D measuring machine, incorporating high-precision measuring tools and comprehensive modular software. The cycles available in the measuring package include ultrasonic wall thickness measurement, which is particularly useful for components with deep internal contours.

The tool control and management systems allow for efficient measurement of tools, minimizing set-up time and tool costs by utilizing tools to their full lifespan. Additionally, WFL offers process optimization cycles that adjust feed rates and spindle speed while ensuring process safety through real-time monitoring of cutting forces and emergency retraction routines in case of power outages.
