Xtreme Cut 292 is a new addition to Qualichem’s range of water-based metalworking fluids. The company said the product has been specifically designed to cope with the challenges of working with difficult alloys such as titanium, Inconel and stainless steel. In addition, the fluid is said to provide improved cycle times and tool life, particularly when users are machining exotic aerospace alloys.
Qualichem said XtremeCut 292 eliminates foaming, staining and residues and provides better lubricity than traditional heavy-duty soluble oils. Moreover, it exhibits a low toxicity profile and thus offers more safety for both operators and the environment.
Qualichem noted that initial field trials indicated that the new product helped to double tool life, reduce coolant usage by 77% and save on tool changeover time by over 50%. The range of benefits are claimed to add up to projected annual savings of around €28,000 for a single machine. The testing programme further indicated that Xtreme Cut 292 can replace straight oils where other water-dilutable products have failed.
