The completely redesigned CAM software SprutCAM 12 from Datentechnik Reitz will be presented at AMB.
Datentechnik Reitz's Version 12 of its SprutCAM 12 software has a new user interface and its windows UI has been replaced with one that incorporates modern web features as well as mobile applications.
The company says pages of different widths are now available. For e.g., a smaller one for a model page that requires less space, while a simulation page in the multi-channel mode requires more space. Auxiliary functions such as visibility and view controls from the ribbon have been replaced by a simple toolbar with page-specific buttons to enable easy page switching. Page heights have been increased to create more space for the job tree and the parameters inspector.
The job tree at the machining page will have customisable columns. By default, the name of the operation, the number of the tool in use and the tool itself will be displayed. Adding columns is possible, like for machining time, toolpath lengths etc., and each can be viewed. In addition to the main view, there are feeds/speeds views and set-up views, which can be easily switched from one to the other, Reitz explains.
Further changes include; a more legible parameters inspector; a tool list that is stored separately from the tools that are in operation. This list includes detailed information of tools in other projects; enhanced 3D graphics, machine components, set-up stage functions, PMI support, new 2D geometry, new G-code milling operation, new solid simulation, updated Moduleworks module, extended machining capabilities, a new plunge roughing feature, check holders for 3D milling operations and roughing waterlines, a 5-axis toolpath conversion, new 5D geodesic toolpath feature and other updated addins. Among these addins are the Autodesk Inventor Professional 2018, the CAD-Bro 2018, Iron-CAD 2018, Solidworks 2018 and Space-Claim 2018.
