On 18 November 2024, the Association of German Tool and Mould Makers (VDWF) kicked off its new Treffpunkt Werkzeugbau tour with a successful premiere at Strack Norma in the Sauerland region. Over 90 experts from the industry took the opportunity to take part in a varied and informative programme.

The presentations at the event covered a wide range of topics: Ralf Dürrwächter and Jürgen Bobretzky from Marktspielgel Werkzeugbau presented current developments and market analyses from the toolmaking industry, while Richard Pergler highlighted communicative strategies for corporate marketing. Markus Rausch (Tebis) showed how machine running times can be optimised and resources used efficiently, while Thomas Eberius presented approaches for sustainable production processes and the CO2 tool passport. Andreas Rauchenberger rounded off the programme with a practical insight into the Oktoberfest, which also reflected the commitment and passion that people put into what they do — even in a corporate environment.

The varied programme offered exciting specialist presentations that highlighted current trends and challenges in the industry. During the breaks, participants took the opportunity to engage in intensive dialogue with colleagues, customers and experts. The opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at Strack Norma and experience the modern production processes of the standard parts manufacturer at first hand was particularly valuable.

The event concluded with a get-together with drinks and delicacies from the food truck. Discussions continued in a relaxed atmosphere and the day was rounded off successfully.

The feedback from the participants was consistently positive, which emphasises the successful start of this series of events. This not only established a new meeting point for the toolmaking industry, but also signalled the strength of the industry and the importance of the network.
