Importance of networking VDWF enters 2024 with over 500 members amid industry growth

The German VDWF (Verband Deutscher Werkzeug- und Formenbauer), a key network in the tool and mould making industry, has reached a significant milestone as it enters the new year with over 500 member companies. This achievement underlines the increasing importance of cooperation within the industry, especially in light of the challenges faced in recent years.

Throughout 2023, the VDWF has experienced robust growth, with 15 new companies joining at the end of the year in December alone. This surge in membership was noted by Ralf Dürrwächter, managing director of the VDWF, who described the period as a “year-end rally”. According to Dürrwächter, this period was marked by packed events and extensive dialogue between members, reflecting a vibrant and engaged community.

The association, now recognised as the largest European network for tool and mould making, proudly welcomed Wolpert Modell- und Formenbau, based in Bretzfeld near Heilbronn, as its 500th member. This expansion represents not only a growth in numbers, but also a broader geographical representation, with applications coming from all over Germany, including some between Christmas and New Year's Eve.

In addition, the VDWF celebrated a social media milestone at the end of 2023, surpassing 8,000 followers on LinkedIn. This online presence is indicative of the industry's growing digital engagement and the network's reach.

As 2024 gets underway, the VDWF is looking forward to promoting innovative projects and ideas. Dürrwächter expressed his enthusiasm for the coming year, anticipating inspiring exchanges and new initiatives from both new and long-standing members. This outlook is set against a backdrop of reflection and innovation as the industry continues to navigate and adapt to the evolving business landscape.
