Incoe Europe Valve-pin velocity control optimises hot runner processes
Germany – Among Incoe’s exhibits at K was its Soft-Gate valve-pin velocity-control which optimises processes in hot runner technology.
According to the company, instead of an abrupt opening of the valve gate nozzle, Soft-Gate allows continuous cross-section flow by opening and releasing the nozzle opening time required for optimum quality to be set and thus ensure reproducibly careful injection. As melt flow is controlled during cascade injection moulding, all pressure and speed changes of the melt during the process are better coordinated to avoid explosive injection and result in a continuous melt stream.
Soft-Gate is said to be user-friendly and is operated without further control technology. Available in version 3.2, functions that are to be integrated into a process can be selected from a modular package. It is used in many applications: High surface quality, optimised melt flow or the enlargement of process windows, or direct HR injection moulding of sensitive films.
