Surfcam Upgrades to roughing, masking and layering in CAM software
The supplier has also introduced a 3D modelling solution.
Vero Software’s Surfcam is described as a powerful 3D CAM solution, which the company claims “achieves the balance between feature sets and ease of use”. Surfcam 2014 R1, the latest version, was on display at Euromold 2013.

Its features include Adaptive Roughing technology and it has also been updated with various enhancements that are designed to deliver improved ease of use and control in masking, chaining, operations management and layering. Updated and additional CAD translators, postprocessors and Edit NC are also included in this release at no additional cost.
Part Modeler 2014, a 3D modelling solution, will also be on display. Surfcam said it has been specifically designed for quick and simple construction and modification of solid models with fully associative drafting capabilities. It is packaged with native CAD Translators such as CATIA, NX and PTC. A special introductory pricing will be available at Euromold 2013, the supplier said.
Surfcam 2D and 3D modelling solutions incorporate CNC programming for 2-, 3-, 4-, and 5-axis machining. Surfcam products have been installed on more than 26,000 systems worldwide during the past 25 years.
