The Ultimaker S6 has been specially developed for engineers, manufacturing teams and maintenance personnel who need reliable 3D prints for manufacturing, prototyping and on-demand repairs, according to the manufacturer. The device, which is designed to enable users in all industries to scale their production efficiently, impresses above all with its high performance and cost-effectiveness. Equipped with the new Ultimaker Cheetah Motion Planner, the Ultimaker S6 achieves print speeds of up to 500 millimetres per second and an acceleration of 50,000 millimetres per square second, as emphasised.

With dual extrusion and two print plates

Every movement is optimised in an ‘intelligent’ way, resulting in printing times that are four times shorter than the previous model. The familiar ‘dual extrusion’ functions ensure even greater efficiency and enable seamless printing with different materials. Because both print heads are supplied by a single material station, the system's operating time can be further maximised. The S6 also has two print plates. One is kept flexible for a wide range of applications. The other is a glass plate that is particularly suitable for medical applications and food packaging, where the highest hygiene standards must be met, as Ultimaker explains.

Parts from the entire S series can be used

Designed for maximum flexibility, the device is also backwards compatible with the Ultimaker S5. It thus represents a seamless evolution of what is said to be one of the brand's most popular platforms, with over 40,000 units sold worldwide to date. The material stations, air managers, print cores and materials are also interchangeable across the entire S series. This means that users' investments pay off over a longer period of time. In larger manufacturing processes, parts can be reused so that production can continue without having to recreate files. The familiar user interface and the entire ecosystem are designed for minimal training and intuitive operation to save preparation time. The S6 is the first Ultimaker printer to come with an extended 24-month warranty – twice as long as usual. Schwartz Off Road Motorsportz in the USA and DP3D in France have already had positive experiences with the printer.

Almost any product can be printed with it

The S6 fits seamlessly into Ultimaker’s software, material and hardware ecosystem, which is based on Ultimaker Cura and Ultimaker Digital Factory. With the ‘Cura Cloud’ feature available via Digital Factory, users can manage, slice and print jobs from anywhere to optimise their workflows across teams and zones. The S6 also supports over 300 printing materials, allowing users to reliably additively manufacture virtually any project.
