The Ultimaker Factor 4 3D printer, engineered for developing and producing process-critical tools and components, boasts innovative features such as engineering materials support, direct drive dual extrusion, onboard print quality reporting, and a temperature-controlled build volume. This new model is designed to offer high predictability with minimal variance in outputs, enhancing efficiency in the manufacturing and industrial sectors.

The Factor 4 comes equipped with a temperature-controlled build volume measuring 330 x 240 x 300 mm and features uniform bed heating to maintain consistent performance across the build plate. It introduces a new high-temperature print core capable of reaching up to 340°C, allowing the use of a broader range of durable, high-performance materials, including Ultimaker PPS CF, a high-temperature composite material.

Tested to achieve over 95 percent print completion success and dimensional accuracy within ± 0.2 mm or ± 0.2 percent of the feature nominal length, the Factor 4 is optimized for producing validated parts for distributed manufacturing. Its versatility, reliability, and ease of use make it suitable for industries aiming to optimize production workflows and accelerate development.

Factor 4 features industrial-grade construction with robust steel, aluminum, and glass components, designed for sustained performance even with complex designs. It includes an integrated, climate-controlled material handling system that maintains low humidity levels to ensure optimal material condition. The printer supports a wide range of materials, allowing for the production of structurally verified parts from flexible materials to high-temperature composites.

Furthermore, the Ultimaker Cura 5.7.1 update provides new print profiles for Factor 4, enhancing print quality and performance while ensuring seamless workflow integration. The printer is also designed for easy maintenance with a modular system that reduces downtime and increases productivity.

The printer is expected to begin shipping in May 2024.
