3D Printing Trumpf showcases its first 3D printer at Formnext
Germany - Laser manufacturer Trumpf will introduce new machines for the 3D printing of metal parts at the Formnext trade fair (17 to 20 November 2015). According to the company, it has established a new division at the headquarters in Ditzingen and worked increasingly on new equipment.
The technology behind the new 3D printers is also known as additive manufacturing. It allows building any components layer by layer from metallic powder directly from within the construction program.
"The introduction of new 3D printers is an important first step for us, because additive manufacturing will not only complement, but also significantly influence future production technology," says Peter Leibinger, Chairman of Trumpf Laser- und Systemtechnik. The demand for industrial-grade 3D printers for metal parts in the market is increasing - and Trumpf says it is the only manufacturer in the world combining all relevant laser technologies in one place.
