Technology highlights and contest for the best tool

At the International Manufacturing Technology Show IMTS in the United States, Anca will not only show its latest products but also choose the “tool of the year”. By sharing a photo of a tool grinded on an Anca machine, participants can win a trip to Anca's headquartes in Australia.

This year, besides showcasing their latest technology, Anca is set to celebrate the art of tool making. The perfect tool requires a combination of art and engineering. According to the company, its customers have cultivated and refined their craft over the years to design beautiful tools and applied engineering to achieve a sub-micron surface finish and enhanced cutting performance.

Pat McCluskey, joint Co-Founder at Anca comments: “In over 40 years working in the tool and cutter grinding industry I have been inspired by our customers expertise and passion for grinding tools. In recognising their craft, our team at Anca have dedicated themselves to designing even better technology solutions so that our industry can continue to evolve.”

“This year we will be showcasing an impressive range of technology at the show, including a brand-new machine that has not yet been previewed by the market. To find the Tool of the Year Anca will hold a competition for customers to submit their favourite tool with the winners being judged and announced live at IMTS. The prize is a trip for two to Anca’s headquarters in Melbourne, Australia to see firsthand how the technology is created at Anca and meet the team who are dedicated to finding even better solutions for our customer.

Besides Pat McCluskey, the judging panel consists of Pat Boland, Joint Co-Founder and Managing Director at Anca, and professionals from the companies Alicona (measurement of surface finish), Zoller (measure profile and diameter) and AB Tools.

World premier of latest addition to machine range

At IMTS, Anca will unveil the latest addition to its machine range. According to the company, it has been designed in response to customer requests to provide a full range of products to meet all grinding requirements. The machine will be complementing the FX, MX and TX range, Anca announced.

Besides this premier, Anca will also showcase other solutions, including the AR300 tool loader, a 3-axes robot that has a capacity of 380 tools and accommodates tool sizes up to Ø20mm (Ø3/4”) x 150mm (6”) long. Other highlights of the presentation at IMTS are the Tap-X-micro for single setup grinding and the MX7 Linear, a CNC grinding machine.
