Germany – Konstruktionsbüro Hein's traditional Technology Day attracted 550 visitors and 70 exhibitors on 19 February 2016.
The 20th edition of the meanwhile renowned event for professionals in the plastics and tool and mould-making industry did not disappoint, the organiser said. Various presentations on a diverse range of topics including hot runners, materials, injection moulding, design, additive manufacturing and many more completed the program.
In his presentation, Rudolf Hein reminded the audience to preserve and pass on their valuable knowledge, as more and more experts were soon retiring, taking their know-how with them. He suggested to network with other companies to maintain the knowledge base. Moreover, students participated in the event and the project "students discover plastics" (organised by WIP Kunststoffe e.V. and the training centre at Continental Tyres). This concept is bearing fruit: one of last year's students now participated as apprentice.
