Swiss Tool Systems Swiss precision toolmaker extends portfolio by adding toolholders for PSC interfaces

Editor: Eric Culp

Swiss Tool Systems has realigned its end-to-end portfolio of toolholders for the PSC interface. Now, machine operators processing workpieces on lathes and milling centres can make optimum use of tools from the company’s universal range when this interface system is employed.

Compliant with ISO 26623, the precision tool clamps are available from stock in all standard sizes. They are distinguished by their ability to release coolant directly onto the cutting edge of the insert in a controlled fashion.

The widely used tool interface, familiar also as Coromant Capto, provides high stability in drilling and boring, as well as lathing and milling work. The products from Swiss Tool Systems are available in the popular sizes PSC 63, PSC 40 and PSC 50. The manufacturer says that only its PSC toolholders enable the operator to set the coolant for release in the middle, on the left or on the right of the device, via a special top-clamping finger solution. The bracket can be fixed in any of three positions to allow coolant to be targeted precisely and thus maximise cooling effectiveness.

The holders are available through tool dealers, and customers in areas covered by the distributor Hoffmann can be supplied from stock by the next working day, in most cases. Further sizes can be supplied on request.
