EOS Strong growth in metals, aerospace applications
EOS Managing Director Dr. Adrian Keppler is confident about the future, as his company is facing continued strong growth. “More and more customers are getting into batch production," he said during a press conference at Euromold 2014. EOS would benefit from this development, he added.
According to the company, around 1600 EOS systems are currently in use, 60% for sintering polymers. However, the market in the metals sector is experiencing enormous growth and will soon overtake the plastics sector, Keppler said.
The growth of the company, which recently opened its new Customer and Technology Centre in Krailing, can also be seen in the number of personnel. “We intend to employ more than 100 additional staff," reported Keppler. “This is one of our biggest challenges at present.“ Furthermore, in the aerospace industry, critical components are increasingly being produced using the metal-laser-sintering process. Engine manufacturer GE is one of EOS’s most important customers.
