The updates latest updates for Sprutcam’s software include support for new robot models, with Kawasaki robots, including the BX300L model, now supported in Sprutcam X Robot and Machine Maker. Additionally, 27 models of Rokae robots have been added to Machine Maker, with their kinematic models now available in the online Robot Library.

In terms of lathe operations, the updates bring an enhancement to the Profile Mode. Users can now adjust the chamfer angle in the Profile cycle based on the 3D model, an improvement from the previous limitation of only being able to change the chamfer size.

The user experience has been significantly improved with updated pop-up hints for lathe machining, engraving, pocketing, and chamfer machining operations. The functionality of pinned snapshots has been enhanced, allowing better management when clicking “Clear All” in the Project Snapshots manager. Overall performance of both Sprutcam X and Sprutcam X Robot has been enhanced.

A new feature allows users to save tutorials on post-processor development as an archive file for offline access. The update also introduces a machine setup template for Swiss-type machines and increases the speed of machining report generation with optimized sketch output. Smart hints have been updated for several operations, including lathe part-off, 5D by meshes, turn takeover, 3D helical, and scallop operations.

Significant technical improvements have been made in the 17.0.14 update, addressing various challenges across the software. These enhancements include fixing spline handling issues and refining the operation of vectors in 6D contour tasks. The update also resolves critical bugs such as mishandling of network licenses and visualization issues with 3D models in the tool library. Fixtures now correctly update during rotate and shift operations, and previous issues with machine node saving in Machine Maker have been resolved. Additionally, a recurrent error during the trajectory calculation for cladding operations has been fixed.

Update 17.0.15 addresses a critical error related to recalculating operations with the workpiece considered and resolves errors when editing 4th and 6th axis limits for industrial robots. Importing step files no longer causes hangs, and axes collision issues in the standard project included with Sprutcam X have been resolved. Errors in polar interpolation on lathes, collision avoidance options, and 5D mesh operation calculations in standard projects have also been fixed. Bugs in various areas such as the safe surface level option for adaptive machining, TCP calibration app links, and toolpath calculation in 6D contour operation have been corrected. Issues with localization rollbacks, launching Sprutcam on Windows 7, and cutter shank operations were also addressed.

Existing Sprutcam X and Sprutcam X Robot users with an active software maintenance contract (SMC) have been notified about the new release and can easily upgrade to benefit from these enhancements.
