Danish industrial group SP Group A/S has agreed to acquire Idé‑Pro BE Holding, a specialist in rapid prototyping and precision manufacturing, in a transaction valuing the business at approximately 94 million euros, including debt.

The acquisition was signed and closed simultaneously and represents a further step in SP Group’s growth strategy, expanding its technological scope and manufacturing depth across several industrial segments.

The deal adds Idé-Pro’s competencies in functional prototyping, injection moulding, expanded polypropylene and polystyrene (EPP/EPS), and light-metal die casting to SP Group’s portfolio. In addition, Idé-Pro contributes a digital manufacturing platform and in-house toolmaking capabilities, which are expected to improve speed to market and support cross-selling across the group.

Founded in 1994, Idé-Pro operates production sites in Skive and Glyngøre, Denmark, and runs an engineering and tooling centre in Bangalore, India. The company focuses on technically complex, low- to medium-volume components, serving customers in industries where short development cycles and rapid iteration are critical.

For SP Group, the acquisition strengthens internal tooling and prototyping capabilities that were previously limited within its own operations. The Indian engineering base also expands the group’s footprint in Asia and supports a more globally integrated delivery model.

Idé-Pro co-founder Morten Nors will continue as managing director, and the existing management team will remain in place following the acquisition. A new board with representatives from SP Group will be established to oversee integration and strategic alignment.

The acquisition reflects ongoing consolidation in European manufacturing, as SP seeks to broaden their value propositions by combining tooling, prototyping and serial production under one roof. For SP Group, the deal is positioned as a strategic building block in its long-term growth ambitions toward 2030.
