3D Printing SLS production system efficiently creates injection mould parts

UK - 3D Systems partner HK-3D Solutions has introduced the Pro-X 500 and 500 Plus Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) production 3D printers from 3D Systems. According to the supplier, the 500 SLS series can create injection mould parts without the time or expense of manufacturing tooling.

After 3D Systems' announcement to participate in this year's Euromold exhibition in Düsseldorf (22 - 25 September), we might be able to see the company's SLS production printer live on the company's stand.

These new production systems have been designed to create a smooth integration with companies' manufacturing workflow, the supplier explains. The Pro-X 500 and 500 Plus are said to provide advanced product performance, reduce total manufacturing costs and also enable the end user to bring complex manufacturing processes in-house and under control.

The Pro-X 500 and 500 Plus incorporate 3D Systems' Selective Laser Sintering (SLS) technology that uses a high-powered laser to fuse small particles of plastic into a three-dimensional part. The laser selectively fuses powdered material by scanning cross sections generated from a 3D model of the part, which are generated from a CAD file or scanned data.
