GF Machining Solutions Securing orders for USD100 million in aerospace sector

GF Machining Solutions has just secured new orders in the aerospace sector totaling a value of a whopping USD100 million.

Division of GF, Swiss-based GF Machining Solutions, has won in North America a large number of new orders in the aerospace sector for a total value of approximately USD100 million. According to GF, these orders will be delivered in the next four years, starting 2019.

Aerospace is one of the key sectors in the strategy 2020 of GF Machining Solutions. With its recently opened Center of Competence in Huntersville, North Carolina, USA, which focuses on the North American Aerospace and Energy markets, GF Machining Solutions underscores its commitment to actively support the company's customers – especially in the manufacturing process of future engine programmes. This new Center of Competence will allow to significantly strengthen GF Machining Solutions' presence in this promising market segment in the NAFTA region.

The new orders include the whole range of Electric Discharge Machines (EDM), milling and laser machines as well as automation solutions and services totaling approx. USD100 million (CHF 100 million). The customers, well-known aircraft engine manufacturers and their suppliers, will use the new machines for the highly demanding production of blades, blisks and other complex components, which will be deployed in the latest generation of aero engines.

GF Machining Solutions provides machine tools, automation solutions and customer services for the production of moulds, dies and high-value-added metal parts. The division has manufacturing facilities in Switzerland, Sweden, China and in the USA, and serves customers in over 50 countries.
