Faro announced the availability of Faro Reveng TM software.

This software platform offers users of the Faro Design Scanarm and the Faro 8-axis-FaroArm® system a tool that is suitable for a variety of challenges in reverse engineering and design. Faro Reveng TM is of particular benefit to users in research and development, the automotive aftermarket, mechanical engineering, engineering and graphic data processing.

Workflow optimisation

The tools and functions of Reveng TM are closely integrated. This ensures a seamless transfer of the project data and thus a considerable optimisation of the entire workflow. Intuitive symbols on a single worksheet save time and increase efficiency. Automatic fitting and repair tools reduce the time required for perfect grid creation. Extract 2D sketches and 3D contour lines from the grid model. Reveng TM provides a trial-and-error approach so that perfect results can be achieved for each project, allowing users to concentrate fully on the desired result.

Complete solution

RevengTM gives designers who need to produce high-quality point cloud scans in colour to create high-quality grid models a clear, lifelike colour representation of the original object. Users can rely on RevengTM to edit quality data or export it to third-party software for editing and final modelling.

If users want to refine grid models and extract sketch geometries for 3D design or 3D printing, Reveng TM provides a complete toolkit for editing and optimising the grid model. In this way, an extremely accurate digital representation of the scanned object is achieved in an efficient manner. The final output can be a waterproof grid model, a grid envelope optimised for 3D printing, or a collection of 2D and 3D curves that can be imported into the design workflow during CAD modelling. Reveng TM also uses advanced algorithms that significantly reduce processing time.
