RJG has introduced a new feature to its Copilot process control system called MAX, the Process Advisor. This feature incorporates artificial intelligence technology using Master Molder techniques to provide real-time guidance to optimise injection moulding processes.

The industry is currently facing challenges such as a shortage of skilled moulders, leading to problems such as increased scrap, machine downtime and inefficient use of engineering resources. MAX is designed to help address this skills gap and reduce production waste.

MAX acts as an intelligent assistant that continuously monitors process parameters and provides troubleshooting suggestions. This addition to the Copilot system is part of RJG's ongoing efforts to integrate AI into its solutions to improve control, efficiency and quality in the moulding process.

The system is designed to keep injection moulding processes running at optimum performance levels. It addresses the industry's skills shortage and focuses on reducing scrap and downtime, increasing efficiency and improving part quality.

MAX has a user-friendly interface and provides step-by-step instructions for process optimisation. This is designed to help operators of all experience levels effectively manage process issues and make immediate improvements.

Jason Yoffy, RJG's Director of Product, commented on the company's role in addressing industry challenges. RJG has focused on providing solutions such as process control consulting, training and technology to address issues such as skilled labour shortages, downtime and increased scrap rates. MAX, powered by AI and incorporating RJG's Master Molder processing expertise, is designed to improve operational efficiency, reduce downtime and scrap, and support data-driven decision making.

The Copilot system, with the addition of MAX, offers several features, including injection moulding process monitoring and control, real-time notifications, process troubleshooting advice, alarm setting, shot-by-shot data review, part and process auditing, and process automation capabilities.

RJG is also running a buy-back initiative for existing customers who wish to upgrade from Edart systems to Copilot systems, offering credits towards new systems. Interested parties are encouraged to contact RJG for more information and eligibility details.

MAX is available as an upgrade to the Copilot system.
