Metsä Board was named on CDP’s A-List, recognising their effort in the ongoing fight against climate change by reducing emission and other measures.
Metsä Board, a European producer of premium virgin fibre-based board and part of the Metsä Group, has once again been awarded a place on CDP's (“Carbon disclosure project”) prestigious “A-list” for climate change. CDP is a global, non-profit environmental disclosure platform that encourages companies and governments to reduce greenhouse gas emissions, conserve water resources and protect forests. Metsä Board has been on the CDP's Climate A list since 2016.
Metsä Board has been recognised for its efforts to reduce emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop a low-carbon economy. Among the thousands of participants, the company is one of a small number of companies rated particularly highly. In 2019, more than 8,400 companies submitted information to undergo an independent assessment using CDP's Supplier Engagement Assessment Methodology.
“Metsä Board is one of the leaders in sustainability and our position on CDP’s Climate A List is a welcome recognition of our ongoing efforts. Last year we published our goal of making our mills 100 % fossil fuel free by 2030 and the A List position confirms that we are working towards this ambitious goal,” says Mika Joukio, CEO of Metsä Board.
