Siemens Rack PC series serves the low-end price segment
The PCs are said to be ideal for visualisation tasks, data capture, management and storage, as well as measurement and testing tasks.
The Siemens Industry Automation Division is launching a range of rack PCs for the low-end price segment of industrial PCs.
The Simatic IPC347D industrial PCs are said to be suitable for production environments where greater robustness is required. The Simatic 19-inch rack PCs come in a rugged metal enclosure and are available ex-works in four fixed configurations, Siemens said. These differ in terms of processor type, RAM configuration, optical drive and operating system.
The PCs have 500 GB HDD hard disks and a variety of interfaces, including six USB ports and Gigabit Ethernet ports, the company said. The units are also said to offer flexible expansion options with up to seven free slots of various PCI formats. The rack PCs are designed for 24-hour operation and exposure to varied temperatures, vibration or shocks, Siemens said.
