GOM said the units have been developed specifically for production-related inspection and quality assurance processes and are easy to install, even without a permanent installation site. The models cater to parts of different sizes, but the core component of all measurement cells is a robot-driven Atos 3D scanner for full-field, non-contact 3D part measurements, the company said.

The standard software solution Virtual Measuring Room (VMR) simulates the real measurement cell environment, making it possible to display movements during measurement in virtual simulations, according to the supplier. It added that the robot can be controlled via drag and drop commands without an operator panel. In addition, users can prepare the measurement with CAD data and without need of a real component.
